Setting up your water bath

Water bath set-up

Place the cup holder in the bath.

Fill the bath with water to the line on the cup holder.
Pro tip
Fill the bath with hot tap water to speed up the heating time.

Place the cup in the cup holder.

Plug in & turn the bath on and set to 180°F or 80°C.

The bath will heat to 180°F / 80°C. This will take approx. 5 min.
Quick check
Both cup and bath are now filled with water.
The water bath is ready to use when the water is steaming.
Cleaning the cup & bath
Steel cup
Use a clean cup for every patient.
Cup is autoclavable at 273°F or 134 °C.
Water bath
Can't be autoclaved.
Clean with sterilization wipes at least once a day.
Cup holder
Clean with sterile wipes.

Making Making PerioPlast® mouldable
#2.1
Check if there’s water in both bath & cup. Turn the bath on at 180°F or 80°C.

Wait until the water is steaming. This takes approx. 5 minutes.

Put on gloves and apply Vaseline to prevent sticking.
#2.4
Open up 1 sheet (4 cubes) of PerioPlast® and pour it in the cup.
#2.5
Stir the material with the forceps for 10 seconds.
#2.6
The granules will stick together. If not, the water is not hot enough.
#2.7
Pull the material of the forceps.
#2.8
You can always reheat to restart.
Quick check
The material sticks together & feels like soft chewing gum.
You don’t feel individual granules anymore.

Place the cup holder in the bath.

Making PerioPlast® mouldable
#2.1
Check if there’s water in both bath & cup. Turn the bath on at 180°F or 80°C.

Wait until the water is steaming. This takes approx. 5 minutes.

Put on gloves and apply some Vaseline to prevent sticking.
#2.4
Open up 1 sheet (4 cubes) of PerioPlast® and pour it in the cup.

Stir the material with the forceps for 10 seconds.

The granules will stick together. If not, the water is not hot enough.

Pull the material of the forceps.
#2.8
You can always reheat to restart.
Quick check
